76ers set to interview Jordan tomorrow

According to a source close to the situation, the 76ers will interview Eddie Jordan tomorrow.
Another source confirmed that the two parties have already spoken via telephone and that Sixers general manager Ed Stefanski would meet face-to-face with the coaching candidate tomorrow.
"He needs a coach, and I'm a coach that's looking for a job," Jordan told the Associated Press last night.
Stefanski and the Sixers said that they had no comment on the coaching search.
On Tuesday, Jordan interviewed in Las Vegas for the Sacramento Kings' vacancy. Afterward, Jordan said publicly he also would speak with the Sixers.
A source close to the 54-year-old coach has indicated that between the two gigs, Jordan would prefer the Sixers because of their immediate ability to compete, as well as their proximity to his home. He grew up in Washington, D.C., and played basketball for Rutgers University.
Jordan is under contract with the Washington Wizards through next season and is owed approximately $4 million.
The Kings interviewed Paul Westphal yesterday.
Jordan has been in the mix for the Sixers' vacancy since Stefanski fired Maurice Cheeks on Dec. 13. Jordan's name surfaced again Monday when Stefanski announced that Tony DiLeo, Cheeks' midseason replacement, had withdrawn his name from consideration to continue as coach.
Stefanski and Jordan worked together for four seasons with the New Jersey Nets - Stefanski as an assistant general manager, Jordan as an assistant coach. During that time, the Nets reached the NBA Finals twice.
Jordan coached the Wizards from 2003 until he was fired 11 games into this season. He previously coached the Kings in the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons.
His career record is 230-288, including a 1-10 mark before Washington fired him just over six months ago.
Jordan is known as a coach who is adept at teaching and running the Princeton offense, a system predicated on backdoor cuts, ball movement, and passing.
Collins' chances. TNT analyst Doug Collins has expressed interest in the Sixers job, but Collins' agent, John Langel, confirmed last night that neither he nor his client had heard from Stefanski.
Langel also made sure to correct a mistake.
On Tuesday night, the Associated Press attributed a quote to Collins in which he said he had spoken to the Sixers "two or three times" about their coaching vacancy. Later that night, he called the quote a "miscommunication" and apologized to Stefanski.
Langel said the former Sixers star did not agree with the attributed quote.
As for still not hearing from the Sixers, Langel said he did not believe it was an indication of the team's interest.
"These things normally are a process," Langel said.
A possibility? If Stefanski is interested in Boston assistant Tom Thibodeau, who is under contract with the Celtics, Stefanski must request permission from Boston GM Danny Ainge. A source close to the Celtics confirmed that Ainge has promised Thibodeau he would OK any requests.
No word. Calls to Avery Johnson's agent went unreturned. Johnson is a studio analyst with ESPN who previously coached the Dallas Mavericks.
