What can the Sixers do, realistically, beyond a pick at 16 to change this club? Not sign Andre Miller? Move multiple pieces to move up or trade for a SG? What is your prescription to get this team in the Conf. Finals in three years?
Dick Jerardi: Lose Sam. Pray Brand is healthy and back to All Star form. Tell Andre I to stop taking so many fall-away, no hope jumpers. Get a PG who can get the ball end to end. However, with Howard and James in the East, the conf finals are going to be very hard no matter what they do. "

Lynam coming back. A source close to the Sixers confirmed that new head coach Eddie Jordan will retain assistant coach Jim Lynam, who has been an assistant with the Sixers since 2005-06 and worked with both Maurice Cheeks and Tony DiLeo.
Lynam joins Mike O'Koren and Aaron McKie on Jordan's staff. One assistant coaching position still remains vacant. Another source close to the situation said this last assistant spot would not be addressed until after July's rookie summer league in Orlando, Fla.

Je crois qu'on aura un petit peu moins de news concernant les discussions du staff. Il y a un journaliste, Tommy Moore, un insider, sur un forum de realgm qui a répandu l'info du trade avec les Bobcats via les médias. Donc sf76 et 76erspr (un nouveau qui selon le 1er, travail pour les Sixers) vont un peu se calmer niveau annonce.
C'est dommage, à la fin de saison, des types avaient demandé à sf76 de balancer plus de rumeurs que par le passé et il l'a fait avec gentillesse, pour rendre service. Et du coup, son informateur a du se faire taper sur les doigts...
Moi j'avais bien aimé Ivey, une sorte d'Evans au poste 1 quand il rentrait, peu de talent mais un bon energizer qui se donne à fond. Le contraire d'un Lou Williams quoi...
76ers reserve guard Royal Ivey yesterday declined the player option on his contract for the 2009-10 season, joining point guard Andre Miller as an unrestricted free agent.
Sixers president and general manager Ed Stefanski announced Ivey's decision in a news release but did not respond to a request for further comment.
Ivey's agent, Keith Glass, did not immediately return calls.
Ivey's decision means both he and Miller can sign with any team when NBA free agency begins July 1.
Stefanski has said the team would attempt to re-sign Miller but would have no indication of the team's chances until the opening of free agency.
The 6-foot-4 Ivey appeared in 71 games off the bench for the Sixers last season, averaging 3.0 points and 1.1 rebounds in 12.1 minutes per game.
For the season, Ivey had 36 steals to just 23 turnovers, posting the sixth-highest steal-to-turnover ratio (1.57) of any player in the league.
Ivey signed with the Sixers on July 28, 2008.
Stefanski has already said the Sixers would likely select a guard with the 17th pick of the June 25 NBA draft.

Dalembert a beau avoir eu une mauvaise saison, je vois pas comment les 76ers pourraient être compétitif sans lui si ils ne lui trouvent pas de remplaçant (et ça n'a pas l'air d'être dans les priorités). Speight est pas mal mais bon en titulaire ça fait très juste.

I know for a fact..Detroit has interest in Miller but would want to shed salary to take him on. I dont know if they will trade him there for Rip..but I do know Detroit is more than ok with the idea of Miller and Stuckey starting and Gordon off the bench or Stuckey off the bench and playing 3 guards alot too.

The players we get back suck..which i told you would be the case in a Sammy deal..but at least we get to 12 where maybe a higher ranked PG or SG is.
Other word I heard was..they loved Maynor workout yesterday...and consider him and Lawson 1 and 1a....would be thrilled to grab either one at 17. If one goes in the 10-16 area...they will try trade up to ensure they get one of them. This is all assuming they dont do the proposed above with Charlotte."
