Steve Kerr : "He's got long arms, very quick feet and good anticipation. He knows what people are doing and he oftentimes jumps plays as they're happening or before they happen.
"So I agree with Damian. I think Avery Bradley's as good of an on-ball defender as there is in the league. I think that's a fair assessment and obviously it'll be a fun battle tonight to watch him guarding our guys. And Marcus Smart is right there with him."

-"I told him he's the best perimeter defender in the league," Lillard said about his brief chat with Bradley after the game. "Because he is." Goddamn right |

Bill Walton appeared on The Vertical recently and told a whale of a tale about how he landed in Boston, despite his body being riddled with injuries (transcript via Mass Live):
And then I got to the Boston Celtics, and the biggest problem was that I still had to pass a physical because theres no way Id ever been able to pass a physical. But Red Auerbach, he showed up at the hospital. And the doctors are all looking at my X-rays. And I could hear them talking. And I had just left everything back in California, and Im coming here, moving to Boston, with no idea how it was all going to play out. And so I could hear the doctors talking among themselves: What are we going to tell Red? We cant pass this guy. Look at his feet. Look at his knees. Look at his hands and wrists. Look at his spine. Look at his face. Theres no way we can pass this guy.
And then Red, he bursts in through the double doors at Mass. General hospital there at the east end of Storrow Drive. And hes smoking his cigar in the hospital, and he walks in and says, Who are you guys and what are you doing with my player? And theyre saying, Red, come here. Look at this. Look at his feet. Look at his face. We cant pass this guy. And Red says, Shut up. Im in charge here. And Red pushes his way through all the doctors, comes over. Im lying on the table there in the doctors examining room. Red looks down at me. He says, Walton, can you play? And I looked up at him with the sad, soft eyes of a young man who just wanted one more chance. One more chance to be part of something special, to be part of the team, to be with the guys one more time. And I looked up at him, and I said, Red, I think I can. I think I can, Red.
And Red took a step back, folded his arms, and took a drag on that cigar. Oh my gosh. And he held that smoke in as long as he possibly could, and you could just see all the machinations going on, all the calculations, all the deliberations as to how this is all going to play out. Finally he just exhaled, and I swear that smoke came out green. And it was shamrocks and leprechauns up against the white LED lights on the wall. And Red, through the smoke, with a big, cherubic grin on his face, looked at the doctors, looked at me, and he said, Hes fine. He passes. Lets go. Weve got a game.
Walton wasnt lying. He played in a career high 80 games during the 86 season. While his stats dont jump off the page (7.6 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 2.1 apg), his impact was undeniable.

@ Phoenix Suns
@ Los Angeles Clippers
@ Portland Trail Blazers
@ Golden State Warriors @ Los Angeles Lakers New Orleans Pelicans
Milwaukee Bucks
@ Atlanta Hawks
Charlotte Hornets
Miami Heat

A propos d'une faute technique qu'il s'est prise : "It went from what could have been a flagrant one to a technical. Monty [McCutchen] obviously I say the F-word in regards to that you cant guard and I say the F-word as in, Ive cursed out refs before. You know what Im saying? Its Monty not listening to me basically.
"I deserved techs in the past, but that whole 35 seconds was garbage. So I dont really care. Im glad I didnt hit the ground and you know break my back again. Sometimes its just that serious, you know what Im saying? I dont speak for the sake of talking, you know what Im saying? In certain aspects, that right there was bulls--- the whole game."
A propos de son shoot à trois points : Turner said he was lethal shooting 15-percent from deep, but now he's at a dangerous 21.3-percent.
"Still lethal baby," he said. "All the time. Still lethal. you gotta guard me out there."
He has hit a three in three consecuritve games, just the second time he's pulled it off this season. How in the world did he do it?
"The ball is going in. Im not a good three-point shooter, but damn I wasnt 15-percent bad!" he said.

"I feel like there's real progress. And it's pretty consistent progress," Stevens said. "But...you don't sign up to come to the Boston Celtics to win 42 games. So we've got a long way to go."

Both Finn and Coslov pointed out that Durants extended praise of the Celtics was highly unusual, that while Durant is savvy enough not to criticize other teams and cities, neither has he gone around tossing out compliments like, the tradition of being a Boston Celtic is second to none
And theres a whole other factor in play here. Seattles revenge. Of course this is all tongue-in-cheek. Or at least, thats what Im saying now, because it sounds so absurd, but if Boston lands yet another world class forward named Kevin this summer, Im going to say I knew it all along.
Okay, as most of you know, Clayton Bennett put together an investment group that bought the Seattle Supersonics with a clearly, if privately, expressed intent to move the team. Publicly, the team shook down the city of Seattle for money to fix up KeyArena while they privately negotiated the move to Oklahoma City. The ownership group announced their intent to move the team (as soon as legally possible) a day after the Sonics home opener in 2007.
The subsequent lawsuits and mess, including the NBAs decision to let OKC claim Seattles championship and record book has been the source of considerable anger in the Seattle-Tacoma area.
Boston has two players on their roster from there.
Avery Bradley and Isaiah Thomas
Know where Avery Bradley went to college? Texas. Know who else went to Texas? Ill give you a hint. His last name rhymes with your aunt. Asked if he had said anything to this player, Bradley said, I might have, I might not have. Of course, if he flat out admitted he had, hed be subject to a fine and tampering charges.
Isaiah Thomas, as we all know, is Bostons recruiter-in-chief. Sub-rosa, of course, but still
So, hey, maybe these Seattle-ites play a role in showing OKC what it feels like when something you really like goes away and theres nothing you can do about it
